It’s Week 5 of the One Room Challenge! There’s still quite a list of things to do to get this room finished, and I am 100% sure there’s no way it will all happen.
There are several reasons for this. The main one is that we had barely arrived home from our Europe trip before it was time to hop on another plane to NYC for the Marathon! That left very little time to get anything done in between the unpacking, four loads of laundry, cleaning, packing, etc. that must be done before and/or after any trip!
My rack will function somewhat like this one by Ballard Designs, except it will swing forward to reveal the fuse box when necessary.

I’ll be excited to get it done so we won’t have to look at the fuse box every day – and so I can stop hanging wet clothes and towels on all the cabinet knobs. 🙂
The second task I was able to complete was a solution for the ironing board. I picked up a cheap over-the-door iron and ironing board holder, and it’s working well so far. It’s easy enough to access the ironing board from my sewing area upstairs, and if I ever decide to iron our clothes…it will be even easier to get to. 🙂
I also finally found an ironing board cover I like. The original one had seen better days. When I saw this one at Wal-Mart for $8, I decided it was the winner.

|Now you don’t!|
1. Add color!
2. Add art! Fill up the big, empty walls.
3. New light fixture?
4. Cover fuse box with a DIY laundry rack!
