Last week, I shared the beginning stages of the transformation of our bright red laundry/mud room. This week’s post will focus on a few functional and decorative changes I’ve made to the space.
Here’s a fun fact: Accessing Blogger from a wireless connection in France causes the entire page, with the exception of my own text, to show up in French, which is a language I do not speak. I can pick out a few words here and there, but even though I’ve been using Blogger for several years now and the page looks identical, except in French…I feel a little lost. I’m also running off of about 5 hours of sleep from our late last night in London and early flight so don’t quite have the brain power to solve the problem. So please forgive any weird formatting!
This week’s first change is a somewhat functional one: the console table I found on Wayfair. I’ve never used the site before, but it was very easy. The shipping was free, as the catchy/annoying tune in the commercial states, and the table arrived quickly and in good condition. Even better, it was VERY easy to assemble. I wound up spending more on the table than I would have preferred, but I decided to go ahead with it in the interest of time: I didn’t have weeks to spend circumnavigating thrift and antique stores for just the right beautiful wooden table, and I really wanted to get rid of that metal shelf! The table came with a drawer and a low shelf that I could put the dirty towel basket and shoe bin on, plus it’s high enough to put a couple pairs of running shoes underneath. The laundry basket fits perfectly on top. By the way, Wayfair in no way paid me to say that or gave me any discount on the table (though it was listed for less the day I bought it than it is today – yay!).
