Our bonus day of summer. Thanks to a surprise nap Our bonus day of summer. Thanks to a surprise nap for #2 on the way home from our impromptu haircut (thanks @genniferw81 for working us in!) and a super laid back #3, #1 and I got some incredibly rare one-on-one time to work on a craft this afternoon. Off to kindergarten tomorrow!
It’s a girl…again! Baby girl #3 arrived nearly It’s a girl…again! Baby girl #3 arrived nearly 5 weeks ago, and it simultaneously feels both like it happened yesterday and like she’s been ours forever. She’s had a busy social calendar already: preschool graduation, dance recital, gymnastics classes, a dinner date with mom & dad, a baby shower, and even family outings to the strawberry patch and swimming pool. There have been plenty of hiccups along the way but both big girls are totally in love with their new baby sister and we’re all finding our footing as a family of 5. 🎀 🎀 🎀
👋 hey instagram. do you remember me? probably n 👋 hey instagram. do you remember me? probably not. it’s been a while. last year I nearly finished the girls’ pink bathroom renovation during the @oneroomchallenge. last week I officially finished it when I framed & hung this print of our girls. the talented @elizabethalicestudio painted the original, which hangs in the hallway downstairs, and the print was the perfect solution to the dilemma of what to hang on this wall. in the weeks to come I plan to share a few other projects that have been happening during my 15-month instagram hiatus. and maybe a few more haikus?
Four months later, and two months longer than inte Four months later, and two months longer than intended…the girls’ pink bathroom is finally done! We’ve been using it all along but I wrapped up the last few touches in January and am so excited to have another finished - and colorful - space in our house! The builders’ beige & brown theme is slowly but surely going away 🎈(see the before in stories 😬)
Their stockings were hung on the Christmas tree wi Their stockings were hung on the Christmas tree with care…because they had a 1-year old. 😀 It’s been 15 Christmases since our wedding and 5 since we became parents and it’s the first one we’ve been able to hang up stockings, even in this unique way. After several abandoned attempts to stitch up family stockings over the years, first for just the two of us, and later for the girls too, I finally just printed off a pattern and knocked them out over the course of a week. Feels so good to finally have our own special handmade stockings!
Bought these countertops on my brother’s birthda Bought these countertops on my brother’s birthday back in October…fast forward to my birthday 2 months and 4 days later and they are installed and ready for Elmo to have a bath! I’ve switched gears to Christmas sewing projects for December so reattaching the trim and touching up the paint will be the first tasks of 2023!! #oneroomchallenge

There’s still more work to do in this space, but There’s still more work to do in this space, but in addition to looking amazing it’s also functional so I’m taking a break for a few weeks. I’m mulling over the curtain situation for now, and my hands are achy from holding the paintbrush & screwdriver. New counters will be installed in December, and after that I can finish installing the board & batten and finish all the other small tasks (see current story)! Until then, I’m switching gears to stitch up some little nightgowns, finally finish our stockings (…15 years later!), and diy a mouse doll house! 🎅🏻🧵
