Happy new year! We’re getting back into the swing of things this week after traveling a lot over the past two weeks to spend time with family for Christmas and New Year’s. I’m now hard at work getting the house clean and starting a major house-wide organizing and simplifying (…meaning getting rid of things we don’t need!) project that’s way overdue.
When we toured our house for the first time in February of 2009, the kitchen was one of the main things that stood out to me. It wasn’t particularly fancy and it certainly hadn’t been updated, but I loved the wall color and white cabinets, and it was bigger than the kitchen we had in our apartment at the time, so I liked it.
So…it appears that I’m on a sewing streak. Throughout the existence of this blog, I’ve tried to avoid posting too many projects from the same category in a row, but it appears that I failed in that attempt here. Bear with me on this one; I’ll change gears for the next post!
It’s embarrassing to admit that this shirt has already seen a full year’s (ok, one spring and almost two full summers) worth of wear. It has been fully test driven and has held up well. 
Hello to you from the golf course! Yep, I’m blogging as I ride along with the Mister while he and a few friends play a full 18. Plenty of time to write a blog post and catch up on a bunch of old emails! 
The Mister got me this dry erase board for Christmas, and it was just a bit plain. I had the perfect place to hang it right between my giant bulletin/magnet board and the door to my sewing room, but I wanted to jazz it up a bit first. I thought of one of the first things I pinned on Pinterest when I joined it a couple of years ago and decided to do something similar. So I pulled out some spools that were leftover from various other projects and got to work.
